The Carroll County Board of Education voted to name Dr. Ron Livingood as Interim Superintendent of Carroll County Schools at a special meeting this evening. He will serve in the position while the board begins a search to replace former Superintendent Casey Jaynes, who resigned recently with the intent to retire effective June 30.
Livingood has worked with Carroll County Schools on multiple occasions from 2017 through 2019, including as interim superintendent and interim principal of CCHS and the Carroll County ATC.
“I adopted a whole new family down here,” Livingood said. "I think I’ve always gotten a bigger blessing being in Carroll County than any good I may have done.” Livingood, who retired as Grant County Schools superintendent in 2016, said he isn’t typically looking for a job, but “if the Lord sends an assignment my way I always try and do my best to help in a situation that a little bit of help might be needed.”
He will meet with the board at its June 25 meeting. Livingood said he wants to hear the board’s priorities and determine what they need from him. “I need to sit down and listen to the board and determine what needs they perceive. They’re the community so I’ll get a feel from them on what are some important things to do,” he added.
“I think the people in Carroll County are really good. I owe them my best effort until things get rolling and they’re able to get everybody in place for that district to run smoothly and the kids to get the greatest benefit,” Livingood said.

Hello Panther Families and Community! Please see the attached letter from Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes regarding the statewide issues of vaping and swatting. Many school districts, including ours, are dealing with these issues. Carroll County has not been the victim of a swatting incident (false report to law enforcement), but we have dealt with student vaping this year. We are asking for your help to educate your students about the dangers of these devices and encourage them to speak to a trusted adult if they have any concerns.

Today we start Staff Appreciation Week at Carroll County Schools! All of our staff members are invaluable to making our students successful. We are appreciative of you every day, but this week our staff members will receive some extra special treats. The Board of Education is providing lunch for each school this week and individual schools are hosting their own celebrations. If you see a Carroll County Schools staff member, give them a pat on the back for their hard work! 🖤💛

Habit 4: Think Win-Win: During the CCCDC transition visits in Mrs. Saggus's classroom today, kindergarten students were paired with incoming students from Head Start.

This experience provided a wonderful leadership opportunity for our current students to mentor their future peers, ensuring everyone feels included and successful, not just themselves.
